TWO JOURNEYS. ONE ICON.

INTO THE DESERT, IN SEARCH OF A HERO

T.E. Lawrence was one of the most famous characters to emerge from the First World War. On these tours, you'll walk in his footsteps - off the beaten track, visiting the locations that aren't usually accessible to tourists.

We'll introduce you to the hero, the warrior, and the guerrilla tactics that changed a nation. We'll take you to the railway he tried to destroy, and explore the impact of the Arab Revolt he so passionately supported.

As a bonus, we'll also visit Petra.  This is an exceptional experience.

GLAMPING OR CAMPING. IT'S UP TO YOU.

On this 7-day tour, both trips share similar itineraries. Both trips also include four nights in a 3* hotel - but then we spend three nights under the stars.

If you'd like a little luxury, then choose glamping.

If you'd prefer more of the Bedouin experience, then choose camping

"This creed of the desert seemed inexpressible in words, and indeed in thought..."

IS IT SAFE... ? In short, we believe so. We have boots on the ground actively monitoring the situation. We also have lots of friends guiding all over Jordan - and we stay in close contact, year round. Still, we're also sensible. If anything changes, we'll let you know. Because of the fluid situation, all deposits on these two tours are fully refundable up to 12 weeks before departure.

CAMPING IS...? An exceptional experience in the company of Bedouin hosts. e'll meet you at Aqaba airport, and you'll be in air-conditioned transport from location to location. In addition to four nights in 3* hotel accommodation, we'll spend three nights in a Bedouin camp. Traditional meals - all breakfast, lunches and dinners are included, as is your entrance to Petra.

AND GLAMPING IS... ? Well, some of our guests prefer ... a little less sand. This is everything you'd expect it to be. Our same fabulous 7-day itinerary, the same meals and transport arrangements included, but our three nights under the stars are a little more luxurious. Once out in the desert, you'll be staying in glamping pods.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED... ? We don't include international travel. Your lunch on the the final day is not included (some guests prefer to stay on), nor are your drinks at mealtimes. We don't include tips for our Bedouin camp staff, we do leave that to your discretion.

OWEN MOODY

Our tour manager Owen loves Jordan so much, he'd been adopted by the Bedouin.

Owen's also something of an expert on the minutiae of Jordanian history, and can't wait to share his love of the country and its history with as many people as possible.

ALEX CHURCHILL ISTORIA.png

ALEX CHURCHILL

Alex has been exploring Jordan and the Arab Revolt since 2017. She is desperate to show as many people as possible all that Jordan has to offer, including hard-to-reach locations on the Hejaz Railway.

She's also obsessed with telling everyone that the Arab Revolt doesn't begin and end with Lawrence of Arabia, so get ready to hear all about the Arab perspective and all the other Europeans that took part in this sideshow of the Great War.

Guide - Mohammed_edited.jpg

MOHAMMED MAKTAN

Mohammed was born and raised on Petra's doorstep. As a history graduate, he loves nothing more than introducing people to his country and teaching them about Jordan's rich history.

You can expect everything from ancient Nabateans, to Bedouin folklore, to the Arab Revolt, as well as all kinds of mystery and history about our destinations over the next 7 days, and Jordanian culture in general.
